Leksin V.N. Death in the space of life. Volume 1: everyday life, philosophy, art. Experience in system diagnostics
The new book by Professor V.N.Leksin summarizes the results of many years of research on one of the fundamental problems of existence — the dichotomy of the natural inevitability and the widest presence of death in the space of life and the instinctive rejection of everything related to death in everyday consciousness. For the first time, this problem has been investigated as a systemic phenomenon with a detailed analysis of the world and domestic situation of mortality and fertility, the perception of mass murder (war, genocide, terror), criminal murders and suicides, regulation of legal relations regarding death and burial, causes and consequences of victims of natural and man-made disasters, as well as games with death in the context of modern ideas about the price of life. The similarities and differences of philosophical and everyday understanding of the phenomenon of death are shown. The specifics of the reflection of death and afterlife in poetry and prose, in music and cinema, in drama and ballet are presented. The study was conducted on the basis of the methodology developed and tested by the author for system diagnostics of socio-political and socio-economic processes using a huge array of statistical and other information recorded in one and a half thousand reference publications. The second volume will present an analysis of the attitude to death and afterlife in various religious systems, the specifics of the world and domestic culture of burial and the economy of death, as well as traditions and innovations in preserving the memory of the deceased — from monuments and epitaphs to toponymy and digital technologies.
