Strannym obrazom, nesmotrja na to čto indijskaja joga v dorevoljucionnoj Rossii i potom v SSSR vyzyvala bol′šoj interes i mnogie ee daže praktikovali, tem ne menee vpervye russkij perevod s sanskrita pervoistočnika jogi – znamenitoj Joga-sutry (JS) byl osučšestvlen i opublikovan liš′ po zaveršenii sovetskogo perioda istorii Rossii (žurnal «Stupeni», № 1-4 za 1991-1992 gg.). A meždu tem perevody JS na nemeckij i anglijskij ne raz publikovalis′ na Zapade uže s serediny XIX veka! Za prošedšee vremja perevod 1991 goda stal bibliografičeskoj redkost′ju. Dannaja publikacija vključaet ne tol′ko perevod, no i original JS na sanskrite (faksimile i transliteraciju), a takže nekotorye dobavlenija i ispravlenija v kommentarijach.

Strangely enough, despite the fact that Indian yoga in Russia and then in the USSR evoked great interest and many practiced it, nevertheless, the first translation from Sanskrit in Russian of the primary source of yoga -- the famous Yoga Sutra (YS) was published only after the end of the Soviet period (journal Stupeni, № 1-4 for 1991-1992). Meanwhile, translations YS into German and English have been published many times in the West since the middle of the 19th century! In the meantime, the 1991-translation has become a bibliographic rarity. This publication includes not only the translation but also the original YS in Sanskrit.

Seltsamerweise, - obwohl der indische Yoga in Russland und in der UdSSR auf gro?es Interesse stie? und von vielen Menschen sogar praktiziert wurde, wurde die erste ?bersetzung der Hauptquelle des Yoga -- des ber?hmten Yoga Sutra (YS) -- aus dem Sanskrit ins Russische erst nach dem Ende der Sowjetzeit ver?ffentlicht (Zeitschrift ,,Stupeni*, Nr. 1-4 f?r 1991-1992). In der Zwischenzeit waren im Westen bereits seit Mitte des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts ?bersetzungen von YS ins Deutsche und Englische vielmals ver?ffentlicht worden! Die ?bersetzung von 1991 zu einer bibliographischen Rarit?t geworden. Diese Publikation enth?lt nicht nur die ?bersetzung, sondern auch das Original des YS in Sanskrit.
