A Shilling for Candles

A Shilling for Candles is a gripping detective story by British writer Josephine Tey (1896–1952). Film star Christine Clay is found dead on a beach in Kent. The evidence points to murder. Inspector Alan Grant quickly identifies the suspect, Robert Tisdall, whom the victim included in her last will and testament the day before. Grant is about to arrest Tisdall, but the man disappears.
