The book deals with the history of Natural Department of Physics and Mathematics faculty of Moscow University at the close of XIX century. The preface is focused on professors, features of student life; there is a characteristic of last decade of XIX century also. The picture of a way of students’ life is painted with the vivid language of memories of former students. Some of these memories are well known, these are memories of Andrei Bely and M.V. Sabashnikov, which were published several times, others were included in not readily available publications, Pavel Efimof’s memories are published for the first time. The choice of these memories for publication is caused by their help for the best reconstruction of the way of students’ life in the 1890s.
